Not sure what to major in? No problem.

Le Moyne College is a great environment if you’re still exploring your academic interests. Thanks to our unique courses, small-sized classes and the close relationships you’ll develop with your professors and fellow students, Le Moyne provides support as you consider the majors available to you.

As an undecided or undeclared major on the Heights, you’ll be set up for success as you work closely with advisors in our office and consider each course of study’s outcomes and careers. With support and opportunities, you’ll explore your way to a major on the Heights!

"Undeclared" is in Good Company on the Heights

“Undeclared” is a popular major among our first-year students. Check out the resources Le Moyne provides to students looking for a major.

It’s a Major Decision, but We’ve Got You

At Le Moyne, there are several events and resources that can help you reflect on your interests. Each fall, Majors Week gives you the opportunity to chat informally with our faculty about their areas of expertise. We take a strengths-based approach through the TRAC (Discover your True Academic Calling) Program to help you consider all your options and passions.

The Student Success Center

From tutoring to academic coaches, the Student Success Center can be a good place to talk to a mentor about what your interests are. Oftentimes, your undeclared advisor’s office is in the Center!

Manresa

Through small group conversations and individual reflections, Manresa provides undeclared students with a meaningful opportunity to actively discern what they like and what they want in a career.

Learning Communities

If you’re undecided, check out the Le Moyne’s Choice learning community. Each year, we welcome nearly two dozen students into this living/learning experience, giving you the chance to explore careers and majors together. You’ll live near each other, share core courses and meet over informal dinners and activities throughout your first year.

Career Advising & Development

Our Career Advising and Development Office can help you learn about job trends and opportunities, broad learning related to majors (e.g., Biology majors can do many things in life!), transferable skills and – through career inventories and strengths-based evaluations – where your gifts and talents lie.

Curious about what majors lead to what jobs? Exploring the experience of our faculty can inspire you or help you think outside the box when it comes to majors and future careers.

“Who says you have to have it all figured out? If you’re anything like I was in my senior year of high school, you may have no idea what you’re doing or where you want to go.  Lucky for you and me, Le Moyne LOVES undeclared students.”
